You are legend.
You lived in the time of the pharaohs.
You danced in the shadows of pyramids.

You are eternal.
Your birth is lost in the khamsin of the desert.
Your blood is the water of the Nile.

You are immortal.
You stand before me, yet you were born of the dawn.
You will see the sun set when I am no more.

You are beauty.
You stepped from the darkened wall of a god's tomb into light everlasting.
You are a hieroglyph, breathing sweet-scented life.

Child of the desert,
Do you remember the pyramids
And the ancient call of the Nile?
Do you await the resturn of the pharaohs,
Or, in some distant land,
Do they await you,
The ankh, the sceptre, the wind?
